Subway Series 30-31

As if the monsters had not been enough. Suddenly there is this page that contains visual quotes from many previous pages, and odd connections between them. There is a watertower that looks like the head of a lego man, there is a cab next to headphones. The monster here is probably a friend of the happy subway car. There is an indication of a subway map in the background. And why is there a free spark plug next to a happy scull? Who knows. The Spark plug seems to be starting a sunrise. The elements are just dancing on these pages. So much joy, so much joy.

No, I do not use any substances that would substantially enhance my perception. I never have and I do not think I ever will use any of this. Drawing, the anti-drug. ; )

it reminds me a little of the beatles' yellow submarine movie. except interesting and charming :)

Oh, yes, I love the work of Heinz Edelman. Here is a Transcript of an Interview with Heinz Edelmann about his work on Yellow Submarine.
He is an absolute superhero of design in Germany, you know. A bit like Milton Glaser or Saymour Chwast here, same generation. I grew up with these images and this might be why some of my drawing might resemble some of the style. Hmm. But then, it is all different...
I just think that it is tremendously important to have a certain sense of humor when doing any drawing work.

... or when doing anything in general : )

Oooh, I love all the monsters from yesterday and today! Unfortunately, I think these are the guys who have been making my train so late and slow all week.

Witold, are you going to the Big Apple Blogger Bash tomorrow evening?

evocative.

are you familiar with jim woodring?

Oh, this is an excellent link. : )
Thank you!

Wait Anna, Big Apple Blogger Bash? : )

maybe tomorrow is a really bad day to fly to Cali, I am missing Apples in Stereos performance and :( the apple blogger bash.

humor is good for everything.

No Blogger Bash for me. I'm not a good mingler and I don't have any friends, nor do I know anyone on the list of attendees. :/
