Mark Seliger is a photographer who takes pictures of stars and comets and planets and things. Some of them land in his staircase. Some in other places in front of his camera.

John Perkinson takes (makes) amazing pictures. My jaw dropped several times when looking through all of his daily photographs so far. I am sure my jaw is going to drop more often... as I am going to visit much more often, of course.

Bart Pogoda takes exceptional pictures. This is a great portfolio site of this Polish photographer. Many of the shots from all around the world have a quite unique poetic quality to them. Really worth exploring.

aperture.org

Aperture is a now 50 year old institution for Photographers. Not only is it a quarterly Magazine, it is also a publishing house and the source of some of the finest collectors prints by artists like Robert Adams, Robert Capa, Robert Glenn Ketchum, Annie Leibovitz, Edward Steichen, Alfred Stieglitz, Paul Strand, William Henry Fox Talbot and Edward Weston, to name just a few. Created in Ansel Adams's house by a distinguished group of colleagues including Minor White, Dorothea Lange, Barbara Morgan, and Nancy Newhall, Aperture's original mission was to communicate with serious photographers and creative people everywhere. In May 1952, the first issue of the 6 x 9-inch journal was sent to a small, hopeful band of supporters united by a belief in an "ideal in photography." (quote from the site.)

ICP.org

International Center of Photography was founded by Cornell Capa (Robert Capa’s brother) in 1974. It just recently moved all of its facilities to the former satellite location in Midtown. ICP truly is a center of many photographic activities in New York City. The website gives insight into educational offerings, often excellent exhibitions and more. (Definitely worth the click.)
