HUMANLY POSSIBLE is a joint campaign of UNICEF, the World Health Organization, Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and many more. About 40 different NGOs around the world adopted the campaign too.
The campaign is here to encourage decision makers to invest in routine immunisation. This is a matter of life and death. And especially in conflict zones. This is important as we have recently seen outbreaks of: polio, measles and diphtheria. All diseases we thought eradicated.
The solution is cheap and effective. In the last 50 years alone, the global immunisation programmes spearheaded by the UN have eradicated smallpox and saved six lives a minute. That’s 154 million human lives.
This is even more impressive if we consider how much has happened in the last five decades. The many conflicts, the countless natural disasters and climate change.
Humanity is clearly capable of some truly positive achievements. Something even more significant than a moon landing. Especially for those whose lives were saved.
And unlike with the moon landing, we all participate in this achievement. Because if you have been vaccinated or even if you chose to vaccinate your child, you have contributed to this incredible human feat.
It’s HUMANLY POSSIBLE. And the campaign we created is just getting started. We have seen an outpouring of support from a media perspective alone. Free placements in some of the finest global publications gave the messages the very needed visibility. We created over 100 versions of the film you can see here. And many more have been created by partners.
There is a website itshumanlypossible.org where you can see the ideas and messages live now.
And we are continuously working on bringing this campaign to more of those who can help us save more lives.
We loved working with the entire team across the many organisations who are part of this effort.
