Smoke Drawings (2020)

The drawings are created using hot smoke collected from a flame. Had the particles not been captured to create the drawings, we would not acknowledge their existence. They would become part of air, soil, possibly my lungs. And many of the particles that managed to escape the process of drawing most certainly have. We are constantly surrounded by dust, smoke, pollution. The carbonized particles are an outcome. But in this case they are also a beginning. This is an ongoing project.
