Punch Drunk Love is the latest film by Paul Thomas Anderson. Most enjoyable and I would say a big five star rating here.
If you have enoyed his Boogie Nights with the invicible Dirk Diggler and Magnolia with the heart tearing tune of the lonest numbers. Here is a wonderful piece of work.
And I always thought Adam Sandler would be (what I believe you would call) a total dork. Here he is playing the unbearable difficulty of containing our love and passion and not going totally mad. A wonderful performance that through great camera and subtle dialogue lets him play off against a simple and energising set.
It is Saturday morning here on a rainy London weekend. Having said that the sun just burst through. It must have been after seeing such a great film. The weekend starts here.
