Mark Goetz is the designer of the Goetz Sofa (1999) a seriously beautiful, ergonomically shaped and yet incredibly relaxed piece of contemporary furniture manufactured by Herman Miller. Mark designed many other objects, of course, and he also teaches at Pratt.

A new magazine is in the works, the creators are both from Chicago, they are Chuck Anderson of NoPattern and Marcy Capron of MarcyMarcy... and they are 18 and 17 years old respectively. The energy is there, the talent is there, we are all awaiting the first issue of New Blood, a new print magazine in which none of the contributors is going to be of the legal drinking age.

I am not quite sure what these very intelligent people are saying ahem writing, but they make really amazing references to very high places... hmm... let's observe design... wait, no... let's design... or what shall we do now?

Carbone Smolan Agency (CSA) are true masters of communication and real life information architecture. They are the ones who reinvented the way visitors see the Louvre (by developing a truly wonderful way finding system, go there and you will understand their genius), they are also the ones who reinvented Christie's brand and much, much more. This is really smart design, seriously fun. Very inspiring.

Geneviève Gauckle makes beautiful work. Some of it is slightly bizarre, some is just funny, some is just really subtle and... okay, most of it is quite wonderful...

Look at that! Stefan G Bucher is professional grade. His drawings are quite excellently executed. His design is not short of amazing. The site's navigation feels as if it were realted to some of the drawings on this very site. There are many good and hand made surprises on the site. Stefan is accepting projects I am already thinking about some I should send his way... : ) Quality made in Pasadena.

As we continue our journey through the World Wide Web, please note that there is some really high quality activity down-under. Please direct your attention to the Australian Illustrator Nathan Jurevicius and his fun packed site. Some of the illustrations and animations scare me a little bit, there are some however that made me laugh. Enjoy the preparation to battle by Tepozton the skater. (We hope to soon see him battle the evil giant.) Nathan has a wicked little site. Check it out!

A wonderful little company doing some really interesting projects. Check out the Brunswick Project if you are there during November 2002. Hyperkit is run by a boy and a girl. And as always when I come across these constellations I am curious how these people manage to do. BF and GF? Or just good friends. In any case, here's a lovely and lively little hyperkit.

Brilliant material. A bit diluted in the last few years, because of all the added collections, but Sir Paul Smith is a superhero of design. I really like his sense of humor. The clothes always have a little special element that gives them live and makes them Paul Smith. The Stores are like little museums of now. I enjoy every visit. This is all beyond true Brit. This is true Great.

Stephanie Aaron’s Last name starts with two A’s. So she must have always been the first one to answer questions in school, the first one to be listed in any list that uses the alphabet to make sense of things. This list of links does not use the Alphabet, still AaronDesignInc. Is really high on my list for creative, professional design that works. I might need to post this link in the New York section as well. Stephanie Aaron has quite an influence on how we see certain things in this city.
She is really one of the designers of the urban landscape. She is also a mentor with the AIGA.
